The short version
The Latchly blog is written by real parents, reviewed by qualified people where it matters, and occasionally uses affiliate links to the products we'd genuinely recommend to a friend. We only earn a commission if you buy — it never costs you extra, and it never changes what we recommend.
General disclaimer
The Latchly blog is a place for stories, tips, and research notes about feeding, sleep, and the postpartum season. It is published for general informational purposes only.
Articles reflect the experience and research of the authors at the time of writing. They are not personalized advice, and they are not a substitute for guidance from a qualified healthcare provider, lactation consultant, or mental-health professional who actually knows you and your baby. Please read our medical disclaimer for the full picture on health-related content.
We try hard to keep posts accurate and current, but recommendations and research evolve. If you notice something that looks outdated or wrong, please email hello@latchly.app so we can look into it.
Affiliate links
Some posts include links to products — pumps, nursing bras, bottles, books — that we think are worth considering. A portion of those links are affiliate links, meaning if you click through and purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer (usually Amazon, sometimes a direct brand).
That commission helps fund the blog and the app. It never adds anything to your price, and it doesn't unlock any hidden coverage — we'd still write the same review either way.
Our affiliate pledge
- We only ever link to products we have actually used or would recommend to a friend.
- We disclose clearly at the top of any article that contains affiliate links.
- The presence of a commission never influences whether something is covered favorably, unfavorably, or at all.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage. Paid placements, if we ever ran them, would be labelled "Sponsored."
- If we're reviewing something we were sent for free, we say so in the post.
Editorial independence
No brand, advertiser, or affiliate partner has any say over what we publish. Every article is written, edited, and fact-checked independently of any commercial relationship. If a recommended product later disappoints us or gets recalled, we update or retract the recommendation — even if it costs us revenue.
How articles are researched
Health and feeding posts are grounded in peer-reviewed research and guidance from bodies like the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM). Where we reference a study or guideline, we try to link to the primary source so you can read it yourself.
Our articles are not formally reviewed by a medical professional before publishing. They reflect our best-faith reading of the research, combined with lived experience — but they are not a substitute for speaking to a provider who knows you and your baby. For anything clinical (latch issues, medication safety, mental health), please see our medical disclaimer and speak to a qualified professional.
Personal stories and opinions
Some posts are first-person essays about real experiences. Those are clearly labelled and reflect the author's own story — not medical guidance, and not a universal experience. What worked for one family may not work for yours, and that's okay.
External links
We link out to other websites, studies, and resources we find useful. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, advertising, or accuracy after the moment we linked. A link isn't an endorsement of everything on the destination site.
Comments and community
If a post has a comment section, please be kind. We moderate to remove spam, harassment, and anything that looks like medical advice dressed up as certainty. We reserve the right to remove comments that don't fit that spirit.
Corrections and updates
When we update a post with meaningful new information — a changed recommendation, a corrected fact, a dead link replaced — we note the update at the top or bottom of the article. If a change is significant enough that the original post was misleading, we say so plainly.
Questions or complaints
If something on the blog felt wrong, unclear, or off — please tell us. We read every email and take editorial feedback seriously.
